Joyce Kopf
Chilton WI
Joyce M. Kopf, age 93, of Chilton, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at her home in Chilton. She was born September 10, 1932 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Henry & Marie (Schwabenlander) Hein. She graduated from Hilbert High School, class of 1950 and worked as the stenographer at the main office of the Kimberly Clark Corporation in Neenah. On October 1, 1952, she married Arthur William Kopf at St. John Catholic Church in St. John.
Joyce was a long time member of the Calumet County Farm Bureau and the Dairy Promotion Committee. She made many friends through her time with the Calumet County Homemakers.
Through her entire life, Joyce cherished her faith and lived it out each and every day. From her upbringing at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton and even into the years when Good Shepherd was established, Joyce continued to serve everyone she could through her work in the church choir and with the Christian Women. Her devotion to the entire congregation was poured out to each and every member of the church as she lent her voice to the church choir and organized and served countless funeral meals until she hung up her apron in 2008.
When she wasn’t serving others, Joyce took her quiet time to tend to her garden and read. Even now, Joyce kept up with the local news by keeping her eyes on the Tri-County Newspaper. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors to keep up with what was happening in the neighborhood. She loved to can all of the delicious veggies and fruits that she raised and never left the cats of her farm alone. They were always well fed and loved.
She and Art were involved in a number of card clubs throughout the area, and when Joyce wasn’t playing cards, you could find her watching her beloved Milwaukee Brewers or Wisconsin Badgers. She was especially hooked on the Badger Basketball Team and looked forward to the March Madness frenzy every year.
Art being her companion throughout life, they traveled together around the world to gain insight into farming from other farmers perspectives.
She is survived by her children: Mary Scullion (Floyd Duranceau), Susan (Al) Ammerman, Vicki Bergeron, Jodi (Ron) Ditter; a daughter-in-law: Linda Kopf; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren with one arriving soon. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Art; a son: Sam Kopf; and a son-in-law: Michael Scullion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Jon Thorsen officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. A time of visitation will be held at the Wieting Family Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church from 10:00 am until 11:15 am. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a memorial video, or see photos of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
Joyce’s family would like to thank the Calumet County Hospice team for their help and wonderful care.
Condolences
Had hoped to make it to Joyce's funeral or visitation, but we were out of town. Enjoyed doing landscaping work for Joyce and Art since they were so easy to work with. Was hoping to pay her a visit in spring but she is enjoying a much happier and beautiful spring now.
