Judith C Brandenburg
Chilton WI
Judith C. “Judy” Brandenburg, age 78, of the Town of Rantoul, died on Monday, February 5, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born April 11, 1945 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Otis & Ruth (Thone) Korstad. Smitten with love, Judy married Terry Brandenburg on June 26, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul.
During much of her working life, Judy worked at Chilton Metal Products and also lived and assisted on the family farmstead. She truly enjoyed every moment on the farm and even now continued to appreciate that simple life and kept tabs on all of the workings that took place daily.
Judy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul and treasured her faith. It was not uncommon to hear her singing or humming Gospel Hymns while occupying her hands in service to others.
Judy’s joy in life was her family and the moments she could spend with them. She was a good cook and an even better baker making sure there was always fresh bread in the house for everyone to enjoy. With her passion for baking, as her grandchildren grew she would put them in aprons and teach them everything she knew about all things that were baked goodness. In her free time, Judy appreciated the simple pleasures of word searches and time spent outdoors.
Judy will fondly be remembered as a woman with a big heart who was content with every circumstance so long as her family was near and a joyful moment could be shared.
Survivors include her husband: Terry; her children: Vicki Brandenburg, Mindi (Tim) Zahringer, Tami Liebzeit, Staci (Keith) Schwoerer; 6 grandchildren: Kaylyn (Brandon) Schisel, Devin Zahringer, Wyatt Liebzeit, Isabel Liebzeit, Peyton Schwoerer, Bristol Schwoerer; a great grandchild: Ryker Schisel; her siblings: Dorothy Peterman, Janis Waier, Al Korstad, Marlene Korstad, Marian Korstad, Barbara Korstad; and her siblings-in-law: Carol (Jim) Krepline, Glenn (Carmen) Brandenburg, Al (Julie) Brandenburg, Connie (Tom) Loefer, Mark Brandenburg and his special friend, Tammy, and Candice (Steve) Buelow. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law: Elroy & Evelyn Brandenburg; a son-in-law: Dave Liebzeit; her siblings: Shirley Korstad, Melvin Korstad, JoAnn Korstad, Dale Korstad, Dennis Korstad, Glenn Korstad; and her siblings-in-law: Francis Peterman, Bonita Korstad & Judy Korstad.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul (N6081 West River Road, Hilbert) with Rev. Brett Simek officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 11:45 am on Friday, February 9, 2024.
Judy’s family would like to extend a thank you to Trish at DaVita in Chilton for years of care given and to the nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital Fremont Tower Floor Three, especially Angela & Kyra. They would also like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Compassus Hospice as well as Pastor Simek and Pastor Brandmahl for their time, prayers and pastoral guidance offered during this time. Judy’s family will be forever grateful for Connie Loefer for her extra support, rides and listening ear whenever it was needed.
