Kenneth Lee Pingel, born on November 26, 1944, to the late Harold and LaVerna (Broehm) Pingel, peacefully passed away on September 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

On February 14, 1970, he was united in marriage to the late Nancy Miller.

He worked 42 years at Tecumseh. For 40 plus years he faithfully worked with the Calumet County Fair Association. He was actively involved in the church dart ball league. He was a community AA member for 40 plus years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his children: Sarah (Doug) Woelfel, Paula (Leonard) Rona, Mark (Lyn) Pingel, Mary Pingel, and Carol Pingel; a foster son: Robert (Lori) Oney; grandchildren: Rachel Woelfel, Daniel (Laura) Woelfel, Kyla Rona, Lela Rona, Felicia Rona, Jaren Pingel, Lake Pingel, Mitch Oney, Thana Frank, Hailey Oney, and Abby Oney; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: Don (Donna) Pingel and Glen (Rita) Pingel; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Claggett and Sue Ruhland; and three special Godchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents: Harold and LaVerna Pingel; a grandson: Tony Rona; in-laws: Harvey and Dorothy Miller; brother and sister-in-law: Dale and Elaine Pingel; brothers-in-law: Floyd Claggett and Keith Ruhland; five nieces; and aunts and uncles.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 11:00 am until 1:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. At the time of service and following, there will be a link available for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family, on their website page provided through wietingfuneralhome.com 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Kenneth Pingel.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the First Responders, the staff at Calumet Medical Center, and the staff at Willowdale for your comfort during this difficult time.

Kenny may have been a bit rough around the edges but he was a diamond among men! Always friendly, generous, and willing to share a story or an opinion. His hard working "git er dun" attitude was exceeded only by his ability to create solutions when others only saw problems. RIP my friend, rest easy.
