Kenneth W Bolz
Chilton, WI

Kenneth W. Bolz, age 68, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his home in Chilton.  He was born November 9, 1951 in Fond du Lac, son of the late William & Armella (Bittner) Bolz.  Ken married Jane Haltinner on August 16, 1975 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.

Ken began working at the Foley Company while in high school, and transitioned to the Chilton Malting Company, now known as Briess Industries, where he was a roaster, and later grew the malt used for important things such as beer and cereal.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Chilton AC’s, the German American Club and was a former member of the Chilton Fire Department.  Ken enjoyed the great outdoors, especially time spent hunting and fishing.  He was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan and never turned down a good Polka song. He appreciated time spent at the cottage in Shawano where he could rest, relax and watch the cars go by.

Ken will fondly be remembered as a man who enjoyed and treasured the simple things in life, like grilling and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife: Jane; his children: Laura (John) Geiger, Eric (Holly) Bolz, and Scott Bolz; his 5 grandchildren: Lindsay and Natalie Geiger, Benjamin Savage, Khloe and Emerson Bolz, and all of the Daycare Grandchildren;  a sister: Katherine Bush; 2 brothers: Dave (Nancy) Bolz and John Bolz; a sister-in-law: Fran Haltinner; and 2 brothers-in-law: Richard Loose and Lyle (Connie) Haltinner.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, other family members and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Jon Thorsen officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 10:30 am when family prayers will be held.  A Parish Vigil Service will take place at the close of the visitation on Tuesday evening.

Ken’s family would like to thank the entire oncology department at St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially Katie, April and Deb, as well as the Ascension Hospice program, especially Kris & Doris for all of the loving care that was provided to Ken, as well as his entire family throughout this time.

Dear Jane and family,
so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I enjoyed seeing you coming to church when I ushered. It was fun to joke with him about the grand kids. He was a wonderful person and will be missed dearly.
