Order Prohibiting Mass Gatherings of 50 People or More has been issued for the State of Wisconsin.
This does effect how we will be conducting our funerals both in the funeral home and at churches.
Public visitation and funeral service will be held with the time listed, but we will be limiting the amount of people in and out of the building to under 50 people.  Please be prepared for standing outside while we wait until each person can enter and exit the building.
If you are uncomfortable joining, sick, or have any underlying health concerns it is advised that you stay home.  We are taking every precaution we can to keep everyone who enters safe and healthy.
On behalf of the family and Wieting Family Funeral Home we are sorry for any inconvenience
.

Lawrence G. “Larry” Wieseckel, age 93, of Hilbert, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Angel’s Touch in DePere.  He was born June 24, 1926 in the Town of Woodville, son of the late Clemens & Dorothy (Nettekoven) Wieseckel.  Larry married Mardella Thiel on September 25, 1951 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John.

Larry worked for the Clarence Mueller Company in Sherwood and eventually worked as a mechanic at Horst Distributing in Chilton until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Knights of Columbus.  Larry had a passion for automobiles, having restored two Ford Falcons, one a Ranchero and one a convertible which he and Mardella loved to cruise the countryside with.  Larry was forever a tinkerer and looked to apply his many ideas to help with life around him.  His handyman skills often proved useful when working in the garage, or volunteering countless hours as custodian and maintenance for St. Mary Catholic Church, School and Rectory in Hilbert.

Survivors include his wife: Mardella; his children: Gary (Lory) Wieseckel, Elizabeth Wieseckel; 2 grandchildren: Ann Marie (Joe) Cataldo, Pamela (Matt) Dufek; 3 great grandchildren: Anthony Cataldo, Heather Cataldo & Lucy Dufek; a sister: Mary Jane VanDaalwyk; and his siblings-in-law: Art (Jane) Thiel and Sr. Elizabeth Ann Thiel.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and their spouses; and 4 siblings-in-law and their spouses.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church (108 S. 6th. St.) in Hilbert with Rev. Michael Betley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Larry’s family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to Dr. Amy James, as well as all the staff of Unity Hospice and Angel’s Touch Assisted Living for all of the loving care that was provided to Larry and his entire family during this time.
We always enjoyed our visits with Larry and Marcella thru the back yard. They were so welcoming to us in the neighborhood when we were a young couple. We also loved watching them drive in their convertible. We are so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you till you meet again.

Mr Larry, as my daughter Amber liked to refer to him, will be missed dearly and fondly remembered for his patiently kind, wise, gentle and thoughtful demeanor, and eyes that sparkled with his smile. ????? God bless you and your family. Norine, John and Amber Riedi

Larry and his wife would come
to our house amd get some of
our Wolf River apples, for
the past few years. They both
loved them so much, and were so happy to get them.
Wonderful man always with
a smile on his handsome face.
Sympathy to his wife and
family. He was 'one of a kind'
and will be missed by all
those blessed enough to
know him.
Rest in peace Larry, until
we meet again.
