Lee R. Van Grinsven, age 63, of Chilton, died on October 18, 2023, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born July 31, 1960, son of Anna Marie (Summers) Van Grinsven and the late Dennis Van Grinsven. On August 3, 1996, he married Patricia “Trish” Fellers.
Lee was a certified mechanic all his life, but worked most of his career at the Leach Corporation as a foreman for their garbage truck manufacturing. When he left there he spent another 15 years with the Fond du Lac County Highway Department until his retirement. There were few things he enjoyed more than motorcycling, fixing cars, or even just hanging out in his shop or around a campfire having a drink and listening to music. He was a sports fan and always cheered for the Packers, but there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his grandkids.
Lee is survived by his wife, Trish; his children: Timothy (Samantha) Ratcliff, Cheyanne (Jacob) Sloan, and Alex Van Grinsven; six grandchildren: Logan, Landon, Paityn, Archie, Marley, and Skyler; his mother: Anna Marie Van Grinsven; his siblings: Guy (Chris) Van Grinsven, Roxane (Mike) Lisowe, and Tab (Chrissy) Van Grinsven; Trish’s mom: Odelia (Fellers) Hanks; in-laws: Jeffrey (Barb) Fellers, Roxanne (Victor) Ketchpaw, Ronald (Kristen) Fellers, and Brenda Bickelhaupt; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Van Grinsven and Trish’s father, Donald Fellers.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, with Fr. Michael Betley presiding. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 6:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Lee Van Grinsven. Memorials can be sent to the Wieting Family Funeral Home c/o Lee Van Grinsven (411 W. Main St. Chilton, WI 53014)
A link will be available above closer to service time to watch a livestream or recording of the service, see a slideshow in honor of Lee, or to view flowers given to the family.
