Lois Hostettler
Chilton WI
Lois Hostettler, age 98, of Chilton, died on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Abridge Care Center in Chilton. She was born August 30, 1926 in Stockbridge, daughter of the late Norman & Clara (Loewe) Hostettler.
Lois began her working career as an elevator operator at Penny’s Department Store before transitioning to the office at the Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton.
In her free time, Lois looked forward to ceramic classes and collected various knick knacks that she proudly displayed throughout her home. She also made sure to reimburse her grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews when she requested their help in cleaning her living quarters.
Following in the footsteps of one of her favorite characters, Betty Boop, Lois definitely lived her life on her own terms, and there wasn’t a person on this planet that could change her mind on anything. Through her 98 years of life, Lois held tight to her homeopathic medicine and natural cures. She knew that there was more to this world than just “stuff” and tended lovingly to her guardian angels and the angels of others.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Theresa Hostettler; grandchildren: Denis “DJ” (Dixie Jacobs) Hostettler, Tracy (Pete) Fahrenkrug, Kelly Hostettler and special friend, Cassandra Kenneally, Kristian (Sonja Emerick) Hostettler; great grandchildren: Aquinnah (Dharma Blurton) Fahrenkrug, Alex Fahrenkrug and Sp. Friend Delaney Heller, Leigh Kenneally and special friend, Elise Rider, Adele, Zelda & Clara Emerick Hostettler. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Denis Hostettler; a brother: Calvin (Maxine) Hostettler; and a brother-in-law: Michael Johnson.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery in the Town of Chilton. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm when the service will take place. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to view a memorial video or see photos of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
Lois’ family would like to thank the entire staff at Abridge Care Center and Heartland Hospice for all of the loving care that was provided to Lois and her family.

One of my fondest memories was when I stopped over as a teenager and we ate cookies in the kitchen with Grandma Clara you surely made me feel special that day.And the many hours we spent together working on the hostettler Genealogy it would not be what it is today, without all of your knowledge, the next generation, thanks You.
