Lois Mae Jensen

Chilton WI

Lois Mae (Bird) Jensen, died on Wednesday, February 7 2024, at her home in Chilton.  She was born July 2, 1930, in Northern Minnesota, daughter of Jesse & Geraldine (Fox) Bird.

At the age of nine, she accepted Christ as her Savior in a little Baptist Church in Minnesota.  She married Leon Jensen on November 29, 1947, in Tyler, Minnesota.  She served with her husband, who pastored churches in South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and Wisconsin.  In 1992, they moved to Chilton where they served at Faith Alliance Church with their son, Jim Jensen, who is the pastor of Faith Alliance Church.

Lois enjoyed serving her Lord through children’s ministries and teaching Awana Clubs, singing in the choir and being a part of the ladies’ ministries.  She also had an active ministry making and sending cards of encouragement.

She lived her life in great appreciation for the comforting Word of God, especially Proverbs 3:5,6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”; Psalm 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”; Psalm 145:3, “Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”; and Psalm 139:23,24, "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thought.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.  She is survived by her children: Sue (Jack) Odel of Minnesota, Jim (Marj) Jensen of Wisconsin, Joy (Bob) Frederick of Indiana, Ron (Denise) Jensen of South Dakota; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years; and 2 brothers.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Faith Alliance Church (468 N. State St.) in Chilton with Rev. Jim Jensen officiating.  At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.

Memorial gifts lovingly given in the name of Lois M. Jensen will be shared in support of the Women's Breakaway Ministry of Faith Alliance Church.

Condolences

I can never forget the trip we took together and the times we spent in the nursing home. The times we laughed when I forgot our papers in the bathroom. So I told Lois, “you pray, i’ll run!” I can’t wait to be with the Lord and you again one day! Oh, how I will miss the beautiful songs you would sing to me over the phone. love you and miss you already! Love Dearly, Phyllis Doxtator

Our sympathies to all those who cared for and loved Lois. Knowing Lois was such a blessing to us. She already is missed so much. She was a class act and a lady in every sense of the word. She will always have a place in my heart. Till we meet again my friend.

Precious Jensen family, our hearts rejoice for Lois’s Homegoing and carry you in prayer as you bring closure to her earthly life and remember all the wonderful memories you’ve had with her. This verse made me stop and think—so fitting for Lois: Psalms 16:11 (NKJV) “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.“ With our love and condolences.
