Lucille Pearl “Ceil” Brehmer, age 94, of Chilton, died on Friday, March 7, 2025 at West Haven in Brillion.  She was born September 17, 1930 in Chilton, daughter of the late Otto & Charlotte (Heimke) Jandrey.

Ceil graduated from Chilton High School, class of 1947 and began her working career at the Brillion Iron Works until 1954.  During this time she married Donald P. “Sarge” Brehmer on June 14, 1953 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2008.

In 1973, she began working as a type setter for the Chilton Times Journal and retired from that position in 1994.  At that time, she started and managed the Shepherd’s Attic in Chilton until fully retiring in 2000.

She was a long time member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton where she was able to live her faith through teaching Sunday School and serving diligently with the Women’s Guild.

Ceil lived throughout the United States while her husband was serving in the military.  Later in her life, she enjoyed traveling with her husband around the world visiting the various places he had served.  In her free time, Ceil enjoyed nights out bowling with her husband or managing two ceramic kilns in her home where she was able to create ceramic pieces of art.  In her most recent years, Ceil’s favorite pastime was spending time with her many grand and great grandchildren whom she adored.

Survivors include her children: Paul (Karla) Brehmer, Philip (Marlene) Brehmer, Sallie (Shane) Peik, David (Tammy) Brehmer; her AFS daughter from Ghana: Gladys Adinyira; her grandchildren: Elwood (Molly) Brehmer, Charlie Brehmer, Heidi (Adam) Lawrenz, Hannah (Ryan) Rakovalis, Holly (Brady) Sanders, Amanda (Donny) Lang, Angela (Tyler) Nackers, Ryan (Gina) Peik, Alyssa (Mason) Taylor, Caleb (Mandy) Brehmer, Erica Brehmer, Joshua Brehmer; and 13 great grandchildren.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ceil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Donald; and her siblings and their spouses.

Funeral service will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton with Rev. Thomas Schmitt officiating.  Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery.  A time of visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 pm until 5:45 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025.  At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a livestream or archived recording of the service, view a memorial video or see photos of the flowers and gifts given to the family.

What a sweet and kind soul we have lost. Mom was my Mom. Period. I felt I was her daughter and I loved her. My children also got a warm and loving Grandma. I am so happy to have made the trip in summer of 2023 to visit. Sallie, whisper “Thank you Mom for making me feel I was one of your own. Rest in the bosom of the Lord”, to Mom for me ????????

To the family of Ceil, I got to know your mom/grandma while working at the newspaper many years ago. She was such a sweet, sweet lady. The world just lost a beautiful soul. Rest in peace, Ceil.
