Marcia Fritschka, age 86, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein. She was born August 8, 1937, daughter of the late John & Catherine (Salm) Fritschka.
She attended Chilton High School for a year and half and later graduated from the Janesville School for the blind in 1955. For a short time, Marcia lived in Madison before moving back to Chilton. She enjoyed going for walks around town and having pleasant visits with those she met along the way. She lived a quiet life and enjoyed time by herself.
Survivors include her siblings: John “Shorty” (Linda) Fritschka, Bonnie (David) Wilhelm, Sherry Fritschka, Paul “Pablo” Fritschka; and her dear friends: The Hackbarth Girls. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Diane, Kay, Michael, Dennis and Keith.
Marcia’s family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the Calumet County Home Care and Hospice as well as the amazing staff at the Homestead Care Center for all of the loving care that was given to Marcia.
Private family services are being held.
You traveled most of your life in darkness without any complaint. Now you can see what can only be the most spectacular light and sights and we can see your smiling face.

My sympathies to the Fritschka family. I knew Marcia thru being a good friend of Kay's. I always admired her courageousness in navigating the streets during her many walks. God speed Marcia, enjoy seeing all the beauty in the world!

Our condolences to the family of Marcia. We remember seeing her about when we first came to live on Spring Street. She was always such a cheerful soul. Her joy was such a beautiful thing when we would visit her. She was/is a saint.

My deepest sympathy to Marcia's family. I had the opportunity to visit with her when my mom was in rehab at the Homestead. She was such a lovely lady.
