Mark E. Blohowiak, age 74, of Neenah, died on June 30, 2026, at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton after a courageous battle against cancer and heart conditions. He was born December 29, 1951, son of the late Adolph and Violet Blohowiak.
Mark was always interested in the arts especially music. He was a guitarist in a band during high school, a hobby he kept the rest of his life. He and Chris Schaefer ran into each other at a class reunion later in life. They found that they had the same interests in music and set up a date to see a local band. They hit it off and Chris was able to marry her high school crush on July 13, 2002.
Despite Mark’s artistic side, he certainly loved golfing with his best friend, Rich, and being a spectator for local sports. He held season tickets at Road America in Elkhart Lake and loved watching the races. He and Chris were shareholders of the Green Bay Packers, and he made it to his nieces’ and nephews’ events whenever he could. His loyalty extended beyond his family; he made donations to local causes whenever possible and he received a certificate from the Neenah Foundry in 2008 for "35 years of continuous loyalty and conscientious service." He enjoyed his peaceful time at home, listening to his favorite music and doing yard work. He was a “brainiac” that did a crossword everyday and didn’t quit until he had it finished. Mark liked being at home with Chris and the cats but his adventurous side came out during the trip to Puerto Rico that Chris won from the Live With Kelly and Mark morning show.
Mark is survived by his wife, Christine; in-laws: Barb (Dave) Ketter, Jim (Jean) Schaefer, Cathy (Paul) Rusch, Lorrie (Phil) Green, Joe (Barb) Schaefer, Ann (Dan) Konen, and Lynn Degeneffe; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Violet; sister: Faye Blohowiak; and Christine's parents: Cyril and Jackie Schaefer.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Mill City Church (120 N. Lake St.) in Neenah. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:15 am at the church prior to service. Formal attire is not required. At the time of service and following, a link will be made available for those wishing to watch a livestream or recording of the service, watch a memorial video in Mark’s honor, or to view flowers and gifts given to the family, on their website page provided through wietingfuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Mark Blohowiak.

Long live the "Nomadic Society". Bill Kathersier, Paul Mand, Jeff Courtice, Fred Casper and Mark. So much fun hanging around these guys when they practiced in the basement at St.Mary's. Mark will be missed.

Dear Chris, family & friends of Marks, Some people leave footprints on our hearts that time can never erase. Mark was one of those special people. Mark was the best thing in my sisters life. He was doin so well thru his recovery journey, just too many bumps in the road. We know you are in a better place, at peace and gained your wings much too soon. We all love you and will miss you dearly.
