Mark T. Heimbach, age 74, died at his home in Stockbridge. He was born February 26, 1947, son of the late Jacob and Germaine Heimbach. He graduated from Stockbridge High School, and went on to join the military and attend several colleges.

Mark proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as part of the Airborne Division and the Green Berets, earning a Purple Heart.  

Mark was an avid reader. He earned Associates Degrees in mechanical design and electromechanical technologies through FVTC, and took more classes at UW - Madison and UW - Green Bay. He loved spending time outside hunting, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, and cross country skiing. He was talented with a guitar and loved dogs; he always had one by his side.

Mark is survived by his sisters: Jane (Paul) Carney, Ellen (Ed) Graf, and Cheri (Dennis) Carney; nieces and nephews: Jodi Carney, Brian Carney, Sara (David Poister) Carney-Poister, Jenny (Cathy Haley) Carney, and Brad (Lindsy) Carney; and great-nieces and -nephews: Asa, Linus, Gus, and Vera Poister, and Reid and Lennin Carney.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters: Mary Beth Heimbach and Catherine Heimbach.

A memorial service is set for 6:00pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home on the day of the service. There will be an opportunity to share stories of Mark during the service.

Just love the fotos,,,a good man..I met Mark at the store about a week before he passed. Shared a hug expressed my condolences for sister Kitty…we laughed alittle, as his smile was always contagious…God bless all… we are now going through similar… you are all in my prayers…ellie
