Mary Kolbe
Chilton, WI

Mary Kolbe, age 62, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home in Chilton.  She was born June 4, 1959 in Chilton, daughter of the late Robert & Thelma (Vogel) Mand.  She married Jeff Kolbe on August 11, 1979 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.

Following her graduation from Chilton High School, Mary worked at the Dairy Queen in Chilton and later oversaw the day to day operations in the office for various dentists for over 29 years.  Following her retirement, Mary worked at the Chilton High School in the cafeteria where she shared stories, made friends, and took great joy in serving others.

She was a member of Faith Alliance Church where she was also actively involved with AWANA, proclaiming the love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone she met.

She was a tremendous woman of faith with a warm and inviting smile.  The fruit of her faith was evident in her love of others; especially for the care she gave to her granddaughter and was the perpetual rock of the family that her siblings  and those she loved could always rely on for love and support.
Mary was a voracious reader and loved putting puzzles together with her granddaughter.  She took great pleasure ruminating on word searches and cross word puzzles making sure that she kept her mind sharp and attentive.  With a quick wit, Mary was a joy to be around and was well known for her delicious Christmas Cookies that were almost as fun to eat as they were to make with those she loved.

Survivors include her husband: Jeff; a son: Josh Kolbe; a granddaughter: Bella; her siblings:  James Mand, John (Patrica) Mand, Patty Mand, Robert (Karen) Mand, Joan (Cal) Scholz, Mike Mand, Sue (Larry) Koehler, David (Ann) Mand, Barb (Dick Elliott) Mand; step-siblings: Bridget Engel and John Kilroy; and a sister in law: Pam Mand.  She is further survived by Jeff’s family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers: Ken & Steve Mand.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Faith Alliance Church (468 N. State St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the church, and again from 10:00 am until 10:45 am on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the church on the day of service. Mary was at the high school working hard everyday that I would walk through for my daily routine of sorting mail. Always greeting me with a huge smile and some fun small talk. She was a super sweet lady???? I miss her smile already.
