Michael D. Halbach, age 64, of New Holstein, died at home on August 20, 2021. He was born June 11, 1957, son of the late LaVern and Margaret Halbach. He met Priscilla Smith in California and proposed. Her mother told her she had to marry Michael because he was so handsome. He was a perfect match for Priscilla so she said yes and they were married on March 11, 1977.

Michael was an outdoorsman, enjoying his time outside, appreciating nature, and hunting deer with bow or gun. He was a good man, a man of faith who loved Jesus and always put others ahead of himself. If he and Priscilla were ever late, it was often because he pulled over to help someone on the side of the road.

Michael is survived by the love of his life, Priscilla; their three children: Jennifer (Bryon) Nolan, David (Pam) Halbach, and Alisha Halbach; eight grandchildren: Melody, Michael, Mollie, and Maverick Nolan, Alara, Brandon, Paris, and Emma Halbach; and his siblings: Judy (Al) Simon, Mary Lutzke, Linda Ehnert, Dennis (Iris) Halbach, Karen (Patrick) Bohannon, and Kim (Scott) Nielsen.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Margaret; Priscilla’s parents: Walter and Judy Smith; and a brother-in-law: Mike Lutzke.
My favorite prank he did was on you mom ( Tammy). With the animal trap and the squirrel tail!! ???????? You screamed soo hard and he laughed just as hard!!!????????
Or when I spent the night and the next morning he woke us up early, stood at the bottom of the stairs and blow his trumpet ????????????

I send my deepest sympathy to the entire Halbach family. Wishing you all peace, comfort, and many great memories to keep with you always!

I was saddened to here about Mike passing. He was a gentle, kind, and loving man who had a fire that burned bright for God. He was a wealth of knowledge, and yet was always approachable, selfless, and was able to speak to people on their own level. Mike helped to bring people to God, and no-doubtedly helped save people doing it. It is heartbreaking for his family, so thank you Lord that it’s not the end for them- he’s just finally home. Well done, Mike…

Mike was my pastor for many years. He had a zest for life. I remember at his granddaughter's princess birthday party he donned and princess cone hat with scarf and chased the kids. He knew how to enjoy life...he will be missed. My prayers are for the family that knowing he is finally home they will have peace.
