Michael worked at Valley Packaging, but enjoyed bowling in his free time. He was very talkative and friendly; he said “hi” to literally everyone that walked by. He loved old country music and was a big Johnny Cash fan.

Michael is survived by his siblings: Barbara (Thomas) Callaway, Susan Schmitz (Dennis Schmitz), Paul (Karla) Boehnlein, Mary (Gary) Buechel, Christine (Richard) Hoerth, and Daniel (Shelly) Boehnlein; close friend, David; special friends at Hearts at Home: Helen and Chris; sister-in-law: Esther Boehnlein; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Loraine; and brothers: David Boehnlein and Richard Boehnlein.

Private family services are being planned.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established under the name of Michael Boehnlein.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hearts at Home, especially Linda and Brenda.
I did not know Michael well but he was certainly a good housemate for my sister Helen. He was a VERY friendly soul and no doubt he is greeting friends, family and strangers into his new heavenly home and I can picture our Lord welcoming him in and showing him the bowling alley in the clouds! After all, isn’t that where thunder and lightning come from? May he Rest In Peace and I will keep your family in my prayers

To Micheal's family,
I know Ashley enjoyed living with Micheal and fortunate to have him as a friend. He had the smoothest hands and loved to shake more then once with you. He always made Ashley giggle. He was taken great care of by Hearts At Home, which allowed him the greatest quality of life. Rest in Peace, hoping there is lots of magazines and music in Heaven.

Michael will surely be missed. I consider myself fortunate he was my friend. He is in heaven making music with Johnny Cash I’m sure. Rest In Peace my friend!

Met Michael many times when Chris and Rich would bring him to the Hoerth family holiday gatherings years ago. He was always smiling and always ready to shake hands. Loved his country music. A special man. My condolences to all Michael’s siblings.

I extend my sympathy to Michael's family and friends. Wishing you peace and comfort.
