Patricia D Schmidt
Murfreesboro TN
Patricia D. Schmidt, age 66, of formerly Chilton, Wisconsin, Fox Cities area, and now Murfreesboro, TN, died on Monday, January 5, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 12, 1959 daughter of, Ruben & Frances (Powell) Zahn.
Pat graduated from Chilton High School in 1977, shortly after married her first husband Matthew John Schuh II where they had two children. Later she married her best friend Timothy Schmidt and they welcomed 2 more children. They raised their family in the Chilton area, and job offers moved them to the Fox Cities, Smokey mountains, and the Murfreesboro, TN area. Pat worked as a CNA in a variety of different places and her love for animals came shining through when she worked as a pet groomer. Pat always had dogs living with her to keep her company and be by her side.
Always with music playing in the background, Pat kept herself busy with her crafts, playing cards, cooking, and especially enjoyed baking. She became known as the Cookie lady at Pierce, she made more cookies that their family could consume so on Tuesday’s Tim’s coworkers looked forward to the baked goods and treats for every sweet tooth to enjoy. When she was not baking she was getting her house ready to decorate for the upcoming season or holiday. A trend setter with holiday themes and decor, she found much enjoyment in making things just right for the upcoming holiday.
Pat will be greatly missed by her husband, Tim; children: Josh Schuh, Holly Schuh (Katie Peek), Taylor Schmidt and significant other Cory Minnich, and Christian Schmidt and significant other Madison Alley; grandchildren: Marlie, Elijah, Americe, Evelyn; sister, Brenda (Jon) Lee; nieces, Heather Lee and Maria Mason; and siblings-in-law: Duane (Dawn) Schmidt, Cynthia Kilgas, Gregory (Deb) Schmidt, Kevin (Yana) Schmidt, and John Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Donna Mason, and brother-in-law, John Kilgas.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton. A time of visitation will be held at Wieting Family Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
