Paul A Westenberger
Stockbridge WI
Paul A. Westenberger, age 91, of Stockbridge, died on February 4, 2026, at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. He was born August 15, 1934, son of the late Arthur and Annabel Westenberger. He graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1952, and married his high school sweetheart, Allison Diedrich, on June 12, 1953. After her passing in 1991, he married Helen Schroeder on December 30, 1994.
Paul took pride in his strong work ethic that started at an early age. As a young boy he moved away from his parents to live and work at a local farm to help take care of his family. He was proud that he graduated high school with some money in his pocket to start his adulthood. He went to Frigidaire Refrigeration School in 1954 and General Electric Major Appliance Service School in 1957. He worked at Bob Leach Refrigeration before starting Paul’s Electric in 1960 from within his own garage until he had his own building by 1968. His work covered much of Northeastern Wisconsin and his daughter remembers going on many drives in any direction and being told he did the electrical work in many businesses, homes, and barns that they passed. After selling Paul’s Electric in the 1980s, he helped Dick and Bill at W&L Insulation and Roofing. His strong will and determination helped him fight through and conquer Guillain Barre Syndrome when it left him paralyzed in 2005.
Paul was happy to have grown up in Stockbridge and took any opportunity as an adult to make it even better. He was the village president for a few years and was one of the driving forces in obtaining the land to form what is now known as the Stockbridge Community Park. Paul donated many hours of his time in wiring the buildings, pavilion, and lights at the ball diamond. The office building there was built as a memorial dedicated to his late son, Bobby. He was a member of the Stockbridge Fire Department, Stockbridge Chamber of Commerce, and was awarded the Citizen of the Year in 1977. He was a founding member of the Stockbridge Harbor Fishing Club, the Lakeshore Stock Club, and the Harbor Gun Club. He further promoted camaraderie among local men with Tuesday meetings at Pete’s (now Ray’s) in Brothertown and Wednesday meetings at Club 45 up north in Conover.
Paul loved the outdoors whether it was Stockbridge, Lake Winnebago, up north, out west or Canada. He was always happy going out west on hunting trips with good friends, or staying in Wisconsin hunting deer, sturgeon spearing, walleye fishing, and cheering for the Bucks, Badgers, and Brewers. He was a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers and was there for the famous “Ice Bowl.”He had been joining the Parsons family going to Conover since the early 1950s. It was his home away from home. Eventually he had his own cabin to share with his family. He made some special friends there: Jimbob, Butch, Charlie, Phil, and the gang at Burnt Bridge, just to name a few. Paul loved butter pecan ice cream, could make a mean meatloaf and would never turn down anything sweet.
Paul is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Mark Schaefer, and their dog, Presley; a sister: Diane Genal; sister-in-law: Monica Westenberger; special nieces: Sue Hansen and Emily Eibs; a special nephew: Richard Westenberger; and many other nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Allison; his second wife, Helen; a son: Robert “Bobby” Westenberger; siblings: Marvin “Dunk” Westenberger, Charles (Marion) Westenberger, Robert Westenberger, and Philip Westenberger; brother-in-law: Carl “Butch” Genal; niece: Karen Westenberger; and nephew: Jon Genal.
The family is having an open house Celebration of Life from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, at Neighborhood Pub and Grill in Brant.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of St. Paul Elder Services C.O.R. division, Primrose, Compassus Hospice, and Calumet County Home Health - especially Holly and Colleen.
Condolences
What a pleasure it was to have been acquainted with Paul. My roommate in Las Vegas once upon a time. He was so enjoyable to be around. He didn't mince words in a manner that a guy couldn't help but be impressed.

Like Mari - I have so many fond memories of the friendship Paul had with our family. I know my Dad and Mom (Don and Eunice Parsons) were certainly there to greet him “Home”! ??????

So many memories flooded my mind of Paul when I saw this. He was a constant in our family kitchen every morning for coffee, a cigar and a dime for me to fill the glass cigar cases he brought me. May you all have your special memories as well and may he rest in God’s arms ??
