Peter J. “Pete” Woelfel, age 84, of Kiel, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Willlowdale Health & Rehab in New Holstein.  He was born December 2, 1936 in Charlestown, son of the late Peter C & Amelia (Bruckner) Woelfel.

Pete proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1959.  Following his honorable discharge, he married Patricia Hoerth on October 15, 1960 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.

He had worked on the family farm for over 20 years before joining Lamers Bus Lines where he remained until his retirement 25 years later.

Pete was a member of the Quinney Fishing Club since 1974, enjoyed going ice fishing and deer hunting and loved to bowl with his wife in couples league.  Casino trips around the state were frequently planned by Pete, but his favorite place to go was in Michigan.  He also loved to play Sheepshead and never passed a game with the entire Woelfel Clan.  Above all else, Pete was the biggest fan of his grandchildren and would travel all over the countryside with Pat catching sporting events and their extracurricular activities.

Survivors include his wife: Pat; daughters: Chris (Richard) Kuehnl, Cheryl (Kevin) Tungate; sons: Michael (Dawn) Woelfel, Brian Woelfel, Robert (Susan) Woelfel; son-in-law: Daniel Hauser; 8 grandchildren: Master Sergeant, Jason (Chani) Kuehnl, Justin Kuehnl, Jordan Kuehnl and his special friend, Maggie, Aaron Anuszuewski and his special friend, Christine, Tanya (First Lieutenant Nick) Salewski, Taylor Woelfel and fiancee Lindsey, Zachary (Samantha) Woelfel, Alec Woelfel and his special friend, Emily; 6 great grandchildren: Abigail, Jayda, & Landon Kuehnl, Dexter Anuszueski, Edwin Salewski & Gracie Lyn Woelfel; his siblings: Terri Meier, Marvin Woelfel & Steve (Judy) Woelfel; and a sister-in-law: Cleta Woelfel.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

To the Woelfel Family,
I think I can speak for all those who traveled with Pete's Tours, that he has left us with lots of great memories . Bartending on the bus, keeping the jokes flying, and just having lots of fun. He would always say "Hope to see you all next month" and that kept his life busy for many years. A lot of family trips with cousins and friends will be remembered because of you. Cheers to you in Heaven and thanks again for such great memories.
