Richard A. “Dick” Schuessler, age 74, of Hilbert, died on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was born January 27, 1952 in Appleton, son of the late George Albert & Bernice Venerva (Jost) Schuessler.
After attending school in Neenah, he began his working career at Tecumseh Motors in New Holstein where he was employed for 45 years. During this time, he married Corrine M. “Corky” Stecker on September 25, 1982 at Peace Church in Potter, Wisconsin.
When the Tecumseh plant closed in New Holstein, Dick started driving semi for Paper Transport as well as WEL Companies until his retirement in 2019.
In his free time, Dick enjoyed time in the great outdoors, especially camping at Blue Top Campground in Fremont and the old Jellystone Park in Fremont. He looked forward to trips driving through the Nicolet Forest which created many memories for his family and he could most certainly be found fishing one of his favorite perch spots on Lake Winnebago.
Dick was well known for his green thumb by tending to the fruits and vegetables he grew in his garden. He was especially proud of his prized tomatoes and constantly shared his vast knowledge of raising the perfect plant with the perfect blossoms to anyone who would listen. Dick also possessed the best home made bread recipe which has now been passed down to future generations and had been a staple at many family meals he had cooked.
He will be sadly missed by his wife: Corrine; his children: Tara (David) Bruckner, Ryan (Molly) Schuessler; his grandchildren: Lily & Thomas Bruckner, Sam, Beau & Adam Schuessler; and his sister: Bonnie Diemel. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Ken & Donald Joas; and a brother-in-law: Ron Diemel, Sr.
Private family services are being held.
