Richard M Hoerth
Chilton, WI

Richard Marvin “Rich” Hoerth, age 71, of Chilton, died on Monday, February 15, 2021, at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He did NOT have COVID! He was born on December 16, 1949, the son of Arthur and Georgene (Gerner) Hoerth. Rich married Linda Buechel on March 14, 1970, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho.

Rich was proud of the work he did throughout his lifetime. He was employed by MinCon Inc., in Forest Junction, since 1992, where he painted bridges, overpasses and various concrete walls throughout Wisconsin. He knew that each job was important and made sure that his work was perfect every time. His painting ability was put to good use when he painted the inside of the Chilton Fire Dept. He also painted the outside of Pla-Mor Lanes with the most vibrant hot pink paint Farm and Home offered!

Rich was an excellent cook. He was best known for his German Potato Salad and his American Fries. He volunteered many hours helping with the Thanksgiving Express in Chilton working behind the scenes. His favorite job was peeling each and every cranberry to be served with the meal! Rich volunteered his time to fry brats and hamburgers for the annual Firemen’s Brat Fry for many years.

Rich was an outdoorsman. He always looked forward to deer hunting with his group of friends in St. Cloud. He especially enjoyed time spent fishing and sturgeon spearing on Lake Winnebago with Lisa and Alisa year after year. It also wouldn’t be unheard of to see Rich on Friday nights at the far end of the bar at Pla-Mor Lanes playing dice and dispensing sage-like wisdom to anyone who would listen.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his parents, Arthur and Georgene Hoerth, his children: Theresa (Kenneth) Flemming, Amy (Kevin) Beil, Lisa Hoerth and her fiancé Craig Heller; his grandchildren, Joseph Flemming, Nick Hanna & his special friend, Caitlyn Westenberger, Rachel Beil and her fiancé Brett Casper, Courtney Beil, Alisa Hoerth and her special friend, Nic Adkins and Corbin Heller; two great grandchildren, Xander and Mason Hanna. Rich’s siblings are Janie (Dick) Dawson, Ray (Diane) Hoerth, Dave (Penny) Hoerth, Joan (Paul) Schmid, Judy Hoerth, Jean Kloehn and her special friend, Carl Weber and Laurie (Dave/”Moose”) Levknecht. His siblings-in-law are Dennis (Renee) Buechel, Tim (Sandy) Buechel, Scott Buechel, Pam (Dave) Petrie and Ann (Glen) Calnin. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rich was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Francis and Alyce Buechel and a granddaughter, KaNisha Flemming.

Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, from 10:00 am until 1:15 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm at the Wieting Family Funeral Home with Deacon Dennis Bennin officiating. Bural will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Those who wish may watch a live stream of the service or view flowers given by clicking HERE as more information becomes available.  There will also be an archived video to be watched in the future.

Rich’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice, especially his nurses, Lorraine and Dawn and his CNA Melissa who were such a blessing to Rich and his family during his last days. They would also like to extend a huge “thank you” to Cathy at MinCon for continually going above and beyond to support us during this time.

Rest easy Rich ,the good Lord will take care of now and forever . prayers to all of his family and all that knew him .

So many memories going way back with Rich. Going into the Loading Dock and seeing and talking to Rich was always the best. Always a great game of Liars Dice and many times after bar hours a trip to Sambo's Restaurant in Fond du Lac for a early morning Breakfast. So much fun was had with Rich. I will miss you dearly. Bernie

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God
is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Linda God be with you and your family.

Rich worked for us for about 25 years and was without a doubt the most dedicated loyal, hard working individual any employer could ever want. His goal was always what was best for the company. Along with his great work ethic he was also one of the most dedicated family persons I knew. He was never really open about it but I could tell his love for Linda and his entire family was indisputable. Rich was just “ good people” and for me, someone in my life I am proud to have known. Bless you Rich and your entire family...
