Robert J Goeser
New Orleans, LA

Robert J. “Bob” Goeser, age 70, of New Orleans, Louisiana, formerly of Stockbridge, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Bob was born June 26, 1951, in Chilton, son of the late William & Elaine (Hemauer) Goeser.

During his time in Wisconsin, Bob helped manage the New Hope Center with their hydroponic garden, always offering his time and talents when  and where needed.  When he moved to New Orleans, Bob owned and operated Bellville Cottage Bed and Breakfast for over the past 30 years.  During his time there, he enjoyed times to entertain new people from around the world, but always looked forward to hosting people from his home town area of Wisconsin every chance he had.

With a loving and jovial personality, Bob loved entertaining people.  His kind, soft soul was a welcoming presence to those who set foot in his doorway and his love of music was a way to create lasting relationships he formed through the many years of his hospitality service.

Survivors include his siblings: Jim (Janette) Goeser, Ellie (Dean) Papendieck, Dave (Kay) Goeser; nieces and nephews: Nick (Vicky) Goeser, Mike ( Kayla) Goeser, Andy (Yalia) Papendieck, Alanna Ortiz, Kristin Goeser, Madeline Goeser; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will take place at 11:30am on Friday, November 12, 2021, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 10:00am until 11:30am at the funeral home on the day of service.
Dear Bob was a joy to be around and always made me feel loved. We discussed nature and all things in the universe it seemed, on the back deck of Belleville Cottage. We first met as neighbors- I worked at the library on the corner of Pelican Avenue. We got to be better friends since that 1993 meeting til 2005 when I moved post Katrina. After that Bob and his cottage were an anchor in New Orleans, then with feelings of a longtime friendship--someone to reminisce about New Orleans. A truly loving person...he often spoke with love, awe, and gratitude of the guests, visitors, family who became greater friends as they enjoyed New Orleans. A creative, persevering spirit infused with kindness, Bob achieved and lived his dream at Belleville Cottage. I am grateful Our paths crossed and that I got to know him during that journey. The blessings and joy of his presence remain in my heart. God bless you Bob.

I am sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I worked with him many years ago at a sheltered workshop in Berlin, WI. He was my good friend, a sweet man. Rest easy.

I met Bob in massage school in 1993 and we became instant companions. An inseparable, soulful bond was formed in an instant. He had a pure heart, an ability to see good in people, a quick wit, a love for good music, art, conversation. He and I shared some of the most important, healing and spiritual conversations. His was a life lived forging and nurturing connections with people; and he did so by his ability to be vulnerable, share deeply and truly empathize with others. He lived with a sense of awe and wonder at the mysteries of life and a definitive belief in our connectedness. He was my soul brother, and I am grateful and humbled that he walked the earth with us at the same time. My deepest sympathies to his siblings, family, and friends. His presence has changed us all, and that is the greatest testament to a life well lived.

Bob was true to himself and others. His great interest in all manner of subjects was sometimes inspiring. I marveled at what a great listener he was and how much earnest interest he took in what others had to say. He took great interest in learning from others and getting to know people better.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his siblings

Sadly, I never knew Bob that well but I enjoyed sharing time with him in my high school days. I know we all will see Bob in Our Father’s heavenly Kingdom! He will always be remembered!
