“I will miss all my earthly Angels and their diverse personalities. Be assured through your bleakest darkest moments, I will be at your side, holding your hand. Also, in your moments of joy and love, I will be smiling down from above!”
Love, Ron
Ronald Gene Touketto, age 65, of Chilton, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1957, to the late Alice Coria in Indiana.
Ron married Cathy Gonzales on October 21, 1989. They were blessed with two special children, Kimberly and Alex, along with Anthony from a previous relationship. Cathy preceded Ron in death on January 16, 2000. While at Shriner’s Hospital with his son Alex, he had a chance meeting with a girl from Wisconsin while she was there also with her son. They started talking and as they say that the rest was history. He married Lori Ott on October 6, 2001, and their separate families became one.
Ron was never afraid to try something new and blaze his own path. Because of this, he went down several different career paths. He was a police officer, a minister, a construction worker and most recently driving truck over the road with Schneider National. Even though Ron had an undying love for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame Irish and driving truck which allowed him to see so much of the countryside, the most cherished love was his family. He cherished every moment he was able to spend with family and friends but he most cherished his time with his grandchildren. His body became the grandchildren’s jungle gym. He cherished each and every one of his grandchildren but he held a special bond with his first-born grandchild, Madalyn, which to him was his “sweetness”. He loved playing games with his family especially cribbage and Phase 10. There were always so many laughs and great conversations.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lori; children: Kimberly Touketto; Anthony (Michelle) Touketto and their children Sean, Katie, Sophia and Ariyanna; Melissa (Dennis) DuPrey and their children, Madalyn (special friend Bailey) and Brynn; Matthew Hardrath (special friend Amanda and her children, Owen & Oliver) and his children, Alexis and Claire; and Timothy Hardrath. He is also survived by a sister: Doreen Hernandez; and brothers: Reuben (Roxanne) Coria, Perry (Tammie) Coria, Mark Coria,, Michael Coria and Steven Coria; his father-in-law: Renae (Marge) Ott; his sisters- in-law: Becky Borseth, Toni Gonzales, and Donna Martinez; his brothers-in-law: Tim Ott, Terry (special friend Char) Ott, Tracy (Sheila) Ott, Kelly (Brenda) Ott, Kerry (Leslie) Ott, and Richard Gonzales. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and his special cousin, Darlene.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Alice Coria; first wife, Cathy; Cathy’s parents: Richard and Vera Gonzales; mother-in-law: Elizabeth (John) Schmitz; brother-in-law: Richard Hernandez; and his most special angel, his son, Alex Touketto.
The family would like to thank the staff at Promedica/Heartland Hospice for the care and love to Ron for the past year, especially his nurse Kim; Chaplain Pat for the hours spent talking with Ron and guiding him in his journey; Chaplain Tim for visiting with Ron in his final days and especially his care and love for our family on the day of Ron’s passing; Linda for all of your support for the family over the last few years; and Lori’s Aunt, Judy VandeVoort, for always being there and supporting the family. A special thank you to Dr. Elizabeth Menzel for all of your home visits, calls and care you have given to Ron; Dr. Brian Guttormsen and staff at the Heart and Vascular Institute for the care given to Ron. Lastly, we would like to thank Wieting Funeral Home for all of their care and compassion during this difficult time.
