Ronald M Price

Hilbert WI

On Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, Ronald M. Price, formerly of Hilbert, joined his beloved wife in heaven at the age of 93 surrounded by family. Ronald, also known to family as Mickey, was born to Ronald and Veronica (Fuchs) Price on September 8, 1930, and lived almost his entire life in the Stockbridge and Hilbert area.   Most recently he was living in Bellevue near family.

Ronald graduated from Chilton High School in 1948.  He married Marian Henseler, July 29, 1952, at St. Mary’s Church in Hilbert.  He was called to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska to help build radar installations. Ron and Marian had eight children. They were long-time members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hilbert.

Ron’s dream as a young man was to be a farmer like his father, but it wasn’t meant to be, so instead he worked for 41 years as a millwright at the paper mill in Menasha as it changed names from Marathon, American Can and James River.    To cover the bills of his growing family, Ron also worked additional jobs after hours during the early years of marriage such as construction work and janitor jobs, including school janitor for St. Mary Catholic School.

Ron was an active member of the Hilbert American Legion Post, the Catholic Knights, and the Catholic Foresters.   He had bowled in leagues for many years and then became an avid golfer after retirement.  He loved meeting weekly with friends for a game of sheepshead, and loved tending to his large garden and fruit trees.

Ronald is survived by his eight children: Mike Price, Barb (Dave) Klehr, Don (Karen) Price, Mary (Bob) Reiter, Julie (Bob) Gause, Wanda (Mark) Bergelin, Chris Nieland, and Sandra Eichmeier; 15 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: John (Mary) Price, Larry (Mary) Price; and 2 sisters: Sr. Germaine Price and Judith Becker (Greg Tuchsherer); and his brothers-in-law: Sy (Pat) Henseler, Gerald (Peg) Henseler, Bob (Judy) Henseler, Larry (Sheila) Henseler, Gary (Jan) Henseler.  He is further survived by special niece Vicki Heimermann, and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; his parents; his brother: Ken Price;  sisters: Rose Heimermann and Patricia Cheshier; and daughter-in-law: Amy Price.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church (108 S. 6th St.) in Hilbert with Rev. Michael Betley officiating.  A time of visitation will take place at the church on Saturday, November 11, 2023 beginning at 9:00 am until 10:45 am.  On the day of the service a link will be available above to watch a memorial video or see flowers and gifts given to the family.

Ron’s family wishes to thank Unity Hospice and all the caring staff at Bellevue Senior Living.  Your smiles and chats meant a lot to our dad.

Memorials given in the name of Ronald M. Price are appreciated for the Calumet County Veteran's Administration to help local veterans with their daily needs.  Checks may be made payable to the Calumet County Veteran's Office and sent to the Calumet County Courthouse located at 206 Court St., Chilton, Wisconsin 53014.  These memorial donations are a loving way to honor the life and rememberance of Ronald Price.
