Ronald R Korb
Chilton, WI

Ronald R. Korb passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021.  Born on December 14, 1939, he is the son of the late Elroy and Helen (Weber) Korb. Ron graduated from Chilton High School in 1958 and loved his cars and his Harley. He is still close with many of his classmates.  He began a career in accounting at Suttner Accounting, then left to become a self-employed accountant and never retired.  He met the girl across the street, Ann Sullivan, and married her  exactly one year later on September 14, 1963.  Together they owned and operated the Chilton A&W (later Korb’s Drive-In) from 1965-1979.  They have many fond memories of their employees whom they considered extended family. Ron was a member of the Chilton Rotary Club and took his turn serving as the president.  He was proud of his perfect attendance during the entirety of his membership.  Ron was involved in the scouting program while his boys were growing up.  He served as a board member of BSA Troop 802.  He spent many weeks camping, fishing and canoeing with his sons and the troop. He was able to use his skills to produce winning pinewood derby cars for his 2 sons and all 7 grandsons. Ron was involved in St. Mary’s Parish for many years serving on the parish board. Ron and Ann enjoyed traveling with the Corvette Crew and traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

One of Ron’s favorite places to be was at their Ski Chalet in Michigan where he was able to spend one last weekend before he passed away.  Ron loved the 35 years he was able to spend at his vacation home with Ann and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren taking them for moped rides, golf cart rides, bonfires, and enjoying the holidays there.  He loved the time he spent with his sons and the outlaws on charter fishing trips, the occasional fish fry and paintball competitions.  We still believe the outlaws let him win because he’s the boss.

Ron is survived by his wife Ann with whom he just celebrated 58 years of marriage.  Family was everything to Ron and he unconditionally loved and supported his six children; Kay (Frank) Biese, Judy (Steve) Hoeft, Dan (Carrie) Korb , Jill (Tim) Kinney, Steve (Nicole) Korb and Sara (Jason) Mueller.  He is further survived and will be missed greatly by his grandchildren Jason (Megan), Kaylee (Jarod), Jake (Heather) Ryan, Katie, Emily, Connor, Brady, Tyler, Rachel, Lauren, Erin and Nick.  Great grandchildren Reilly, Gavin, Harper and Charlotte. He is survived by two brothers Ken (Edie) Korb and Robert (Gail) Korb, brothers-in-law-Jack Sullivan, Tom (Sue) Sullivan, sisters-in-law Mary Grace Langenfeld and Joyce Sullivan and many nieces and nephews, who will all miss “Uncle Ron”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann’s parents Humphrey and Beatrice Sullivan, a brother Gerald, brothers-in-law Jim Sullivan, Ralph Draeger, Ed Langenfeld, a sister-in-law Marilyn Sullivan and a nephew Patrick Sullivan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 pm on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Jon Thorson officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 9:00 am until 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 26, 2021.  Those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service may do so by clicking HERE

The family would like to thank the Chilton Police Department, the ambulance service, first responders, and Wieting Family Funeral Home for their care and compassion. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Ron Korb.

Dad, thank you for the unconditional love and support you always gave your family.  Love and miss you already!

Ann and family, I have so many fond memories working for you at the drive-in. Ann, you and Ron were so patient and welcoming to all the high school employees. You made us feel like family. You and Ron have been a role model to many of us. God’s blessings to you all.

Deb & Bill Murphy (Friend) - Nov. 28, 2021

We send a big hug, and our deepest sympathies, to the Korb family. We were saddened to hear about the loss of your husband/dad. Some of us had been employees of Ron's, one of us was a friend of Kay's growing up, and one of us lived next door to the Korb's. So when the June parade came around we always stopped to chat with the Korb's. We all have fond memories of Ron. Ann, we are so thankful we were able to see you and Ron in August to catch up and get in a few more laughs as we reminisced.

May you take all those great memories of your husband/dad and keep them in your hearts forever. Take comfort in all the memories and feel blessed.

The Bastian Family (Dan, Doris, Beth, Deb, Barb, Jim and Maria) - Nov. 27, 2021

A heartfelt hug to all the Korbs. Your dad was part of my scouting world & the confusion of church budgets as a teenager. His big smile & connection to community are really living on in thousands of us. Hope you can also feel the light in these days of transition. You’re all In my prayers

Dearest Ann and Family. Time has never lessened the memories I have of the wonderful times Jim and I and the boys have had with your family in the past. Ron will always be in those thoughts as bigger than life as he has always seemed. The following quote by Kahlil Gibran has given me much solace in the past 13 years since Jim has "passed the mountain peak". I wish for all of you comfort and peace.

"I have passed the mountain peak
And my soul is soaring in the firmament
Of complete and unbounded freedom;

I am in comfort,
I am in peace."
Kahlil Gibran
