Sandra L. “Sandy” Padgett, age 72, of Appleton (formerly Hilbert), died on July 31, 2024, at Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born March 13, 1952, daughter of the late Orville and Lorraine Hollmaier.
Sandy was an avid gardener, filling her yard with flowers, birdhouses, and bird feeders. She even had a green thumb when it came to growing vegetables, and she grew a birch tree that split into three trunks because of her three sons. She loved her family deeply, and took advantage of any reason to cook a big meal, even though she refused to let anyone help. She was more than happy to help take care of her grandchildren whenever she was asked and she taught each of them the art of plastic canvas. She enjoyed decorating for every holiday and she was a life-long, diehard Packers fan.
Sandy is survived by her sons: Don (Rene) Padgett, Steven (Penny) Padgett, and Kevin (Kelly) Padgett; grandchildren: Michael Padgett, Kyle (Alyssa) Padgett, Bailey Padgett, Mariah Padgett, and Mason Padgett; great-grandchildren: Amelia Padgett, Jackson Padgett, Liam Padgett, and Kylee Padgett; and her sister: Joanne (Ron) Brault.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents: Orville and Lorraine Hollmaier.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, in the dining hall at the Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton. Friends can enjoy a snack and share stories from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home on the day of service.
