   Stephen H. Jacobs, 93, passed away at Libby’s House, Saturday, October 30, 2021.  After a short battle with pancreatic cancer and dementia.  He was born March 30, 1928, to Robert and Cornelia (Welch) Jacobs in Gresham, WI.  

   Stephen proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Stockbridge American Legion Post 128.  He was also a member of the Oneida Indian Nation.  

   He worked at Lake to Lake in Kiel for 40 plus years til his retirement in 1991.  His hobby was his beloved hobby farm where you could find him outside puttering everyday on one thing or another, and working his land or tending a garden.  He enjoyed raising pigs in his earlier years on the farm and sitting on his porch in his later years enjoying the beautiful view he had of Lake Winnebago.  

   Stephen married Kathleen Reffke in January of 1955 at Sacred Heart Church in Appleton, they were married for 47 years, til her death in November of 2002.  

   They had four children together:  Deborah (Paul) Roehrig, Daniel Jacobs, Dennis (Kimberly) Jacobs, and Connie (Chuck) Lisowe; 11 grandchildren:  Tim (Marcia) Roehrig, Liz (Nick) Adcock, Michael Roehrig, Sarah (Troy) Rusch, Steven (Melissa) Jacobs, Kayla Lisowe, Casey Lisowe and friend, Becca, Tony (Nicole) Gates, Carrie (Chris) Juckem, Dr. Gina (Steven) Costello, and Jessica Cook; 8 great-grandchildren: Lauren and Tessa Roehrig, Teagan Adcock, Wren Rusch, Kaylee Jacobs, Trinity and Logan Cook, Sophia Costello, and one more on the way.  

   He married Lorna (Mueller) Bundy in May 2007, they enjoyed nearly 14 very happy years together.  5 step-children:  Kevin Stanelle, Kendall Stanelle, Ken (Sue) Stanelle, Kurt (Terry) Stanelle, Lorelei (Ron) Wyman; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  

   He is further survived by 2 sister-in-laws:  Delores Jacobs, Karen Reffke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

   He is preceded in death by, his parents; wife, Kathleen; in-laws, Theodore (Georginnia) Reffke; brother, Lester Jacobs; sister, Caroline (Earl) Wood, Stella (Gary) Oman; brother-in-laws, Theodore, Jr. and Donald Reffke; a special aunt, Rose Bud Moon; special cousins, James (Hilda) Moon, Aryle (Erwin) Turnbloom, Norman Welch, nieces, nephews, and step-sister-in-laws.  

   Private family services will be held, Sunday, November 7 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with service to follow at 4:00 PM at Wieting Family Funeral Home.  A burial will be held at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Appleton.  

   The family would like to thank Libby’s House nurses and staff for their care while their dad was there.  Also Heartland Hospice for their care and support during his final weeks.  
Oh my...I could write a book on the kindness of this man. So caring and giving. My family absolutely loved him! *short story. Steve use to visit my uncle Romy quite a bit back when. I'd say 36 yrs or so. He would come to Doxtators and Romy would be outside holding my twins. He would reach to Romy and say I'll hold this one always taking Joey off of Romys lap. He would hold him for the longest time. I thought that was so cute! He was loved. I'm sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Uncle Steve was such an amazing man. I always remember the when when he would come up and visit grandma and grandpa and I would answer the door he always would have something sweet and motivational to say to me. Some of the conversations we had helped me alot thoughtout the years. Definitely a great man and will be missed.
