Steven S Popp
Steven S. Popp, age 51, of Chilton, died unexpectedly on January 7, 2023, at his residence in Chilton. He was born March 7, 1971, son of Sheila Popp and the late Ervin Popp, Jr.
Steve was a fun-loving fellow with the gift of gab. He was a self-appointed HR department representative for the New Hope Center, and took it upon himself to fire everyone on the payroll, at least once. He was happy to be a member of the New Hope Action Club and an honorary member of the Chilton Kiwanis Organization. He loved Halloween, bowling, beanbags, dancing and the Jerry Schneider band, but he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and firends.
Steve is survived by his mother, Sheila Popp; sisters: Sandra Sterr (Randy Krepline), Tracy Popp, and Tanya McCullough (Ken Klug); and nieces and nephews: Ashley Sterr, Zachary Sterr, Tori Popp (his lil tootsie) and Damion Klug.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Popp, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 3:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. There will be an opportunity to share stories about Steve during his service. I remember seeing him at the NHC Halloween dance and regardless if we were at work or not, he would always fire people. It was something that would always make me smile. He was a good man and an amazing friend who, no matter what, could make you laugh.
