Susan L. “Suzy” Brandenburg, age 65 of Chilton, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at her home in Chilton.  She was born November 10, 1953 in Green Bay, daughter of Jack & Arlene (Moes) DeGroot.  She married David L. Brandenburg on May 16, 1999 in Lake Tahoe.

Susan worked for 30 years at Tecumseh in New Holstein and then began working at Kwik Trip in Kiel shortly after.  Suzy was known far and wide for her excellent cooking and baking skills and applied all she knew at the Elite Bar and Grill in New Holstein and later at West Haven in Brillion until she retired at the age of 60.

Suzy enjoyed the great outdoors hunting and fishing.  Being well known for her baking, she had also made many, many cakes and cookies over the years and was especially popular for her scrumptious birthday cakes.  Suzy also volunteered time through Meals on Wheels and was a driver for Calumet County, transporting people throughout the area.

Suzy will be fondly remembered as a woman with a big heart, who was loved by all those who knew her, especially her family.

Survivors include her husband: Dave; her parents: Jack & Arlene DeGroot; her step-children: David T. Brandenburg & special friend, Nicole Schmidt, Jim Brandenburg, Nancy (Bruce) Lefeber; 5 grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Jack (Bonnie) DeGroot, Barb Brocker, Mary Kay (Alan) Olson, Jerry (Carla) DeGroot; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Linda (Joe) Hanke, Debra Mittag, Jeff Brandenburg, Sandra Horswill and special friend Rick Christel, Peter Brandenburg, Carla (Gary) Hess; her very dear friends: Denise & Courtney; and her beloved dog: Kelly.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. J. Patrick Niles officiating.  Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Chilton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 1:45 pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019.
