Steffen, age 73, of Brothertown, died on Monday, July 18, 2022 at her home. She was born August 26, 1948, daughter of the late Robert & Arlene (Rollmann) Diedrich. Following her mother's death, Susan and her brother Jim were raised by their aunt and uncle, Marvin “Steve” & Marian Amel on their farm. She married Wayne Steffen on June 21,1969 at St. John Catholic Church in Johnsburg. Sue was a graduate of New Holstein High School, class of 1966 and starting in 1973, Sue began working for Tecumseh in New Holstein until the facility closed. While at Tecumseh, Sue was very active in the union and served several terms as president. She furthered her education in paralegal studies with Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, just prior to retirement. She was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, and a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Stockbridge Legion Auxiliary. Sue's life revolved around her family and friends. As the mother of three sons and grandmother of four grandchildren, she was the matriarch of the family, always making sure family was a priority. She was a friend to everyone and was able to bring a smile to the faces of anyone she came across. There never was a better friend...
