Susan R Schnackel

Manitowoc WI

Susan R. “Sue” Schnackel, age 66, of Manitowoc (formerly Mountain Home, AR and Door County, WI), died on July 5, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center Manitowoc County in Two Rivers. She was born June 12, 1958, in Evanston, Illinois, daughter of the late Richard Schnackel and Patsy Ann Schnackel-Jacobs.

Sue’s family was close-knit and they meant the world to her. She extended that love through her work as a caregiver, working primarily in nursing homes for over 30 years. At home, she cherished her pets and even found a way to forgive her special friend and roommate, Linda, for being a Vikings fan because she was a die-hard Packers fan. They happily shared a home for over 20 years, enjoying life with pets, beer, and laughter. Sue will be remembered for her boisterous and contagious belly laugh.

Susan is survived by her dear friend, Linda Sadowski; brother: Robert (Jackie) Schnackel; and nephews: Kevin and Isaiah Schnackel.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Richard Schnackel; mother and step-father: Patsy Ann Jacobs and Paul Jacobs, Jr.; and a brother: James Schnackel.

A memorial service will be held at 6:45 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 6:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch an archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Susan Schnackel. Memorials can be sent to Wieting Family Funeral Home c/o Susan Schnackel 411 W. Main Street. Chilton, WI 53014

Condolences

I've always admired Sue for her fun and jovial nature. Her positivity, the love and care she showed everyone. Sue never said a bad word about anyone nor complained. She loved cooking, Linda, the pets they shared, and Bob Seger!! Sue was an excellent story teller about the animals "stunts". She would belly laugh as she told me. I would be belly laughing right along with her. Thank you Bob and Jacki for bringing Sue and Linda "home" to Wisconsin. In over the 20 years that I have known her, those years were some of her best. Sue was an angel on earth. Now she is an angel in heaven . . .Peace to the Schanckle family, Partner for Life, Linda, Sue's many friends.

I am blessed to have known Sue. She started as a friend and quickly became family. We had so so many laughs. We could simply look at each other and just start laughing knowing what each other was thinking! Her laugh was so contagious and full of love. She is missed so much.

I didn’t get the pleasure of growing up with Aunt Suzie but I did get a brief moment in time when I was 12 when I lived up in Door County with my biological father Paul. She was so amazing and kind to me during that time. Those short but sweet memories have resonated through the years. My heart goes out to her siblings as the loss has to be devastating. To all that had the pleasure of being close to her my heart felt condolences to you as well.

Sue was a very special person.I always had a good time with her and my sister when I would visit. I was just there in June and we had a great time. I loved Sue's laugh. No words can take away the pain you are all feeling right now, so all I will say is my heart goes out to the Schnackel family and my sister Linda. Sending love and hugs to all of you.??????
