Teddy J Czeskleba
Stockbridge, WI

Teddy James Czeskleba, age 64, of Stockbridge, was called home after a lengthy battle with heart failure, on May 17, 2020.  He passed away at his home with his loving wife at his side.  Ted fought hard for two years.   He was born March 10, 1956, son of the late Donald and Darlene (Bloede)  Czeskleba. On October 18, 2003, he married the love of his life, Lori Schmitting (nee Hardrath) at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Chilton.

Ted proudly served in the United States Army after high school.   After an honorable discharge he continued on in the National Guard.  After his service he worked for the Department of Corrections for 33 years.  He also worked at the North Star Casino part time living in Shawano until his marriage to Lori.  He retired April 2018, with many plans which were halted within days by heart failure.

Ted grew up in Wild Rose at the fish hatchery, which gave him his love of the outdoors. Ted was an outdoors man, who loved fishing and hunting.  He fished every chance he had.  He was a member of the Fisherman’s Road Fishing Club.   He was also an avid hunter, hunting anything he could: ducks, turkeys, geese, and deer. He liked watching Sci-Fi TV and horror movies. Ted was proud to be a grandpa and loved his grandchildren dearly.

Ted is survived by his wife, Lori; his children and grandchildren, Melissa (Adam) Costlow,  Michigan; children Jason, Jenna, Jazmine, and Jackson. ; Brenda Czeskleba, Oconto; Kayla Czeskleba, Green Bay; Step children and grandchildren: Lisa (Robert) Cullen, Chilton; children Carsin, Nicole, Alyssa (Scotty); Lee Schmitting (Janet Stoelb), Chilton; daughter, Ali; James (Amy) Schmitting, Chilton;  children, Kylie and Caden; Julie Schmitting (Charles Williams), Appleton; children, Mikayla, Jeffrey, and Bradley; and Laura (Joseph) Schad Chilton; children, Olivia and Becca; a brother: David Czeskleba; Lori’s mother: Lois (Pete) Hau; his two loving pets: Jack and Maggie; and many friends and extended family.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Darlene; a step-son: Joey Schmitting; and his brothers: Gordon, Terry, and Tom.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 20, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at the funeral home on the day of service.

Ted's family would like to thank UW Madison Heart Failure hospital and Dr.Uting for all there love and care.   They would also like to thank Home Health care team, DaVita Dialysis Green Bay, and the Hospice Team.

A very special thanks from Lori; to Ted's co-workers from Sangor Powers for keeping his spirits up and keeping him laughing throughout these rough 2 years.  She would like to thank her children for all the love, help, and support they have given her and Ted, and her sister Bonnie and brother-in-law Roger for always being there for her.
Ted & Lori put on the best fish fry's! His devotion to Lori & family & friends was to be admired. Julie & I send our deepest sympathies !

Nancy Czeskleba (Sister in law) - May 19, 2020

With 37 years of memories how do you pick just one? So mine would be fishing, camping, star trek next generation, all the long talks we used to have, but the one I will always laugh about is him cartwheeling over a grill and landing up right. The one that I will always miss until I see him again is his hugs and hearing him say I love you give the kids a smooch for me. And his "oy vey" when he was lost for words which happened alot as I was growing up. The ones that will always bring a tear to my eyes is when he walked me down the aisle, our daddy daughter dance to butterfly kisses, hold his grandchildren for the first time and spending the last few days with him.

Laura Schad (Step Daughter) - May 18, 2020

Teddy was one of five little boys living next door at the Fish Hatchery. They were a handful. May Teddy rest in peace.
