Willard Aloysius Woelfel, age 87, of Chilton, died peacefully on Sunday evening, May 26th, 2024, at Homestead Health Services in New Holstein. He was born on December 18, 1936, in Chilton, the son of the late Erwin and Kunigunda (Meyers) Woelfel. Willard graduated from Chilton High School in 1955 and attended Appleton Technical School majoring in the electrical trade.
For almost four decades, Willard was employed by Chilton Metal Products. He also was self-employed as an electrician just like his father. On May 17, 1961, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Black Creek, Willard was united in marriage to Jane L. Baumann. They had just enjoyed their 63rd wedding anniversary this month.
Willard enjoyed going to casinos, sturgeon spearing, hunting, puzzles, playing cards, camping, and snowmobiling.
Willard is survived by his wife, Jane; four children: Tim (Brenda) Woelfel of Wilson, MI, Rosanna (Larry) Bogle of Catawba, WI, Terry (Melissa) Woelfel of Appleton, WI, and Travis (Sadie) Woelfel of Chilton, WI; eleven grandchildren: Danielle, DJ, Cassandra, Ian, Bryce, Grace, KayLeigh, Reid, Sophia, Blake, and Ryelynn; three great-grandchildren: Noah, Anna, and Lucas; four siblings: Rita Hren, Roma Perronne, Kris (Mike) Bierman, and Tom (Jane) Woelfel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Willard was preceded in death by his son, Todd Alan Woelfel in 1985; his parents; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:45 am at the church on the day of service. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Willard A. Woelfel.
