William M. Fortune, age 76, of Chilton, died on February 14, 2023, at Progressive Nursing Home in Sheboygan. He was born March 23, 1946, son of the late Gordon and Blanche Fortune. He was married to Beverly Karshner until her passing in 2004. William proudly served in the Air Force during Vietnam. The military and his career took him across the country, but no matter where he went, he remained an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. William was a wonderful son, father, and husband.  He was loved by his family very much.  

William is survived by his children: Mindy (Todd) Hidde, Jerry Fortune, Billy Fortune, and Brian (April) Fortune; grandchildren: Alicia (Brad) Tomcheck, Kristin Hidde, Alexis (Quinn) Rastall, Alivia (Kyle) Fortune, Mason Fortune and their mother Peggy Fortune, Justice Fortune, Scarlett Fortune, Phoenix Fortune and their mother Jessica Fortune, and Alana Fortune; and great-grandchildren: Ethan Hidde, Kaylee Hidde, Carter Hidde, Christian Rastall, Presley Rastall, and Brooklyn Tomcheck.  

William was preceded in death by his wife Beverly; his son: Brent Fortune; his parents: Gordon and Blanche Fortune; and his mother and father in-law: Frank and Ann Karshner

The family will hold services near William’s hometown in Craigsville, Virginia, where he will be laid to rest.
